Performing core network service installation

In this post we will be installing our core network service the  active directory Which will also setup our DNS server

First we will need to go to Control Panel>Network and Internet>Network Connections to Find our network adapter to configure our IP

Then we right click on our adapter and go to properties and find Internet Version Protocol IPv4 then Click on properties and switch from automatic IP to use the following IP to configure a static IP

Use run to execute dcpromo.exe to promote the system to a active directory, you will be greeted with the following setup wizard below.

After Selecting next you will be brought to this screen below to set your root forest domain for the server.

Then It will check if its available.

You will be taken to this screen next where you will set your forest function level I choose server 2003 in this tutorial

You will be prompt for additional domain controller options make sure DNS server is checked here for it to be installed.

Just hi next to continue after this screen.

You will be prompt to set a directory services restore mode administrator password when yor on the screen below.

This screen below will give you a review of  your setup before continuing.

Then the active directory service along with the DNS server will be installed.

Once everything is setup successfully you will be greeted withe screen below.
